Sundial Growers Inc. (“Sundial”) is pleased to announce that business leader and tech entrepreneur Ted Hellard will take an active role as the organization’s leader. “Ted is a proven innovator with a long track record of building successful businesses,” says Sundial Spokesperson, Claire Buffone-Blair. “With Ted playing an active role, we are confident that Sundial will meet its goal of becoming one of Canada’s leading ACMPR-licensed producers.” Hellard brings decades of business experience to the Sundial team. In 1996 he founded Critical Mass, which became one of the world’s largest and most influential digital marketing agencies, eventually being sold to Omnicom Group. In 2005, he became Managing Partner and co-owner of the Calgary Stampeders Football Club, building the team into Grey Cup hosts and champions before stepping away in 2011.
His latest venture, AppColony, is a technology company that creates innovative mobile software and has forged strategic partnerships with leading global organizations in multiple industries. “I look forward to applying my skills and experience to help Sundial become a leading force in the industry,” says Hellard. “For the past six months, I’ve been working closely with Sundial Founder, Stan Swiatek, and I’m thrilled with what we have accomplished positioning the company for a successful future — Sundial is definitely a cannabis company to watch.” Hellard will assume the role of Executive Chairman with an immediate focus on rounding out Sundial’s leadership team and board.
